Longman and Eagle Block Party

Longman and Eagle throws an annual a block party right outside of their restaurant in the fall.   Longman and Eagle is located in Logan Square, a.k.a., Hipster Central.  So naturally, I threw on my thick-rimmed glasses and hopped on the Blue Line en route to enjoy some amazing food and beer.  The highlight of the evening was the pig roast that was offered on the Pig Plate menu item.  Three whole roasted hogs were barbecued for the event.  This block party is held annually, so if you catch wind of it next year, definitely mark your calendars and make sure to attend.
Beer and whiskey.  The essentials.
Menu
Whole hogs were barbecued for the event.
Venison Sausage.
Venison sausage with sauerkraut, apples, watercress, stone ground msutard on a baguette.
Fantastic.
Wild Boar Sloppy with pickled jalapeno, crispy sage on an onion brioche.  Good, but forgettable.
Pig Plate.
OMG. The pork was heavenly.  Crispy outer skin with tender, juicy white meat.
Corn pudding.  Exceptionally delish and on the sweeter side.

I don't just take pictures of food.  I also scarf it down.
Three Asians and a Blonde.
Happy eating.

xoxo
