Chef Ping

Chef Ping is my favorite noodle shop in Chicago.  The owners of Chef Ping are the original owners of the famous Yu's Mandarin.  Chef Ping serves the original dishes that launched Yu's Mandarin's popularity, as well as, some mouthwatering additions.  All noodles are freshly made and hand cut at the restaurant.   The quality of every dish is outstanding and the bold flavors simply knock my socks off.  I love this place.  City dwellers, Chef Ping is worth a drive out to the suburbs.  Reservations can be made via phone.  Big thanks to Sam Shin for a wonderful lunch.

The famous Ping's Noodle Platter. 

Seafood, vegetables, and pork served over house made noodles.  A must order for anyone's first visit.

Mix well and eat.

Noodle in black bean sauce.  Also known as "Jja Jjang Myun" in Korean.  Pork, baby shrimp, onion, and zucchini slow cooked in a black bean sauce, served over house made noodles.

And eat.

Pong pong chicken.  Hot and tangy sauce over chicken lollipops.  Another must order!

The broth is spectacular.  Spicy with a a rich consistency, I was finding myself drinking spoonfuls of the flavorful broth.
