RPM Italian

RPM Italian is Bill and Giuliana Rancic's new Italian restaurant in Chicago.  Honestly, I was bit apprehensive about dining here because I had heard mixed reviews about the food.  RPM Italian has won new fans.  My girlfriends and I were extremely impressed!  The food here is exceptional.  Portion sizes are smaller than the typical Italian restaurant, however, Chef Doug Psaltis's execution of each dish is spot on.  Service is very friendly but still needs a bit of tweaking.  Also note that the servers make for some great eye candy.  Reservations can be made via Opentable or on the RPM Italian website.

How gorgeous is this dining room?  The ambiance here is swanky, posh, and chic.
Menu
In addition to their fabulous cocktails, RPM also offers an impressive wine selection.
This place pours you a generous glass of wine.  They know what's up.  YOLO.
Pasta puffs.  A perfect start to our meal!  Light, airy, and crisp.

Provolone-stuffed peppers.  Fantastic!
I love how the peppers have some heat to them!
Fresh homemade ricotta with semolina toast.
SO delish!  The ricotta is extremely fresh and creamy.  Schmear that on some warm bread and you've got yourself the perfect starter.
Roasted mushrooms.
Absolutely divine!
Polenta, poached egg, fresh black truffle, and Parmesan.
Amazeballs.  Remember to break the egg and mix the yolk into the polenta!  Rich and delicious!
Mama DePandi's Bucatini Pomodoro.  The sauce is absolutely fantastic!  A favorite of the evening.
Slow roasted sicilian pork arrosti with gigante beans.
Perfectly cooked, juicy, and oh-so delish!  I'm salivating by just looking at this picture.
Roasted black mission figs with crushed amaretti cookies, and mascarpone crema.
I LOVED this dessert!  Unique, light, and fresh!
Tartufo.  Hazelnut gelato with a chocolate shell.
Friggin' amazing!  Chocolate, hazelnut, and gelato all rolled into a ball of heavenly goodness.
Baked chocolate and orange cannoli.

A perfect ending to our meal.

I guess Bill's cookies never made the dessert menu... yet.
Happy eating.

xoxo
Grace
