Baked & Wired

Baked & Wired is a scrumdiddilyumptious bakery located in the quaint neighborhood of Georgetown.  This wonderfully creative bakery whisks you away into a sugar-laden dreamland while also providing you with the much needed jolt of caffeine.  Baked & Wired uses quality baking ingredients and also bakes in small batches.   Although Baked & Wired offers a variety of biscotti, cookies, pies, and granola (a.k.a Hippie Crack), this place is most famous for their unbelievably delectable cupcakes. Their cupcakes deliver delicious flavors and don't skimp on the size.  Each cupcake is larger than your standard size cupcake and are big enough to share.  The best part is that each gigantic cupcake is only $3.50.  Next time, I'm planning my D.C. trip around visiting Bake & Wired at least once a day.  Big thanks to the wonderful Ms. Beckee Birger for her excellent recommendation.

This bakery does not mess around.

Cookies.
Biscotti.
Cupcakes are called Cakecups here.
Each cakecup is crowned with its own mini cake stand, label, and description.
Need a cup of joe with your sweets?  Right in the next room is where you get "wired."
Coffee menu.
Add a slice of cake with your coffee.
After my purchase, I stopped by the garden of the historic Old Stone House to eat my cupcakes.
Texas Sheet Cake Cupcake.
Chocolate cake with a hint of cinnamon. While the cake is still warm, chocolate-pecan frosting is slathered on the top that oozes into the cake to make a praline-like topping.  Absolutely delish!  These cupcakes are extremely moist and light!
The Tessita.
Named after the owner’s daughter. Vanilla Cake with dulce de leche filling and chocolate-hazelnut satin icing.  Dulce de leche AND hazlenut?  Just scrumptious.
Dig.
Relish.
Fancy.
Happy eating.
