| Joong Boo Market is a Korean grocery store located in Avondale. Not only is this one of the flagship Korean grocery stores in Chicago, Joong Boo Market also has a cafeteria that serves authentic Korean food located inside its store. The prices are ridiculously cheap and the quality of the food is legit. This is one location where it is okay to be hungry when grocery shopping. | A very simple table setting which requires you to retrieve your own necessary silverware: A spoon and a pair of chopsticks. |

| Kkam Pong Gi. Korean-style chicken wings. It's a chicken lollipop with a sweet, tangy, and spicy glaze, sprinkled with sesame seeds. |

| Kal Guk Soo. Flat, flour noodles in a chicken broth based soup with egg, scallions and sliced zucchini. |

| Bi Bim Bop. |

| You know you're in a traditional Korean restaurant when they serve your Bi Bim Bop in a large steel bowl. Fluffy white rice topped with assorted vegetables, a fried egg, beef, and gochujang (spicy red pepper paste). Mix and eat. |

| Al Jee Gae. Fish roe stew. The Al Jee Gae is served in a traditional hot pot to keep your soup hot and bubbly. |

| Fish roe, tofu, mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, and red pepper flakes. |

| Cheong Po Muk. Mung bean jelly side dish. This very similar to tofu but with a jelly texture. |

| Kimchi. Spicy pickled cabbage. |

| Marinated zucchini side dish. |

| Dduk Bok Ki. Spicy rice cake with ramyun, scallions, and fish cakes. A popular Korean comfort food dish. One of my faves! |

worst service ever. the ahjumma ignored the line of 5 people for about 10 solid minutes. it was surreal to say the least.
